A downloadable fangame for Windows

Welcome! Your Turn To Draw - Death Game by Shadows - is a YTTD fangame where the fates of four characters are decided through cards and careful thinking, turning a harmless card game into a Death Game!

This game is also friendly to Yu-Gi-Oh! newcomers and those who know nothing about Your Turn To Die.

And in case you were wondering, yes, this is basically just Your Turn To Die if the death puzzles and main games were replaced with Duel Monsters.

// GAMEPLAY

Your Turn To Draw follows a simple Puzzle Visual Novel gameplay loop with the exception of a unique episodic format, many of YTTD's point-and-click exploration elements are replaced with the story of either one out of two protagonists—Sou Hiyori or Reko Yabusame. Each story chapter (or in this case 'seasons') is broken down into eight episodes that will each be released individually, much like the original Chapter-Part format YTTD follows. Each episode will be formatted :

Character Interaction Event #1 — Practice Duel With Partner — Free Time Interaction Event #2 — Daily Duel — Character Interaction Event #3 — Plot.

Each character has different story routes and showcases events unique to their routes. The cards used by the protagonist will differ for each character.

The main gameplay surrounds the player watching the protagonist duel and making the right set of choices during their turns, which comes in the form of the Planning Phase.

Each Duel plays out normally without much input from the player as if they were watching an episode of Yu-Gi-Oh!, but as soon as the scene demands it or the protagonist's turn comes, the player gets tasked to choose between a small set of options to ensure victory. However, many options will either lead to a unique non-canon path (and will revert the player back to before they made that choice) such as a bad end or a gag ending.

// DISCLAIMER!

REGARDING YTTD SPOILERS: The game uses many original lore points and off-canon content regarding the characters and the game's story, which also extends to using some popular ideas and scenarios from the fandom. This is mainly done to avoid majorly spoiling the original game to increase the scope of players, and it's also used to make an original and compelling story.

REGARDING CONTENT WARNINGS: This game may show content certain players may be sensitive to, such as death and trauma, depression, suggestive themes, and depictions of suicidal thoughts. Viewer discretion is advised.

Install instructions

Sometimes, the game might somehow be mistakenly packaged with a bunch of pre-made save files. If you open the game and notice that the 'Load Game' option is not greyed out, go inside the game folder where the .exe file is located, then open the 'www' and 'save' folders, and then delete every file with a number in front of it (except 'global').

Okay, I downloaded the files, but how do I open them and play the game?

Hello!

You need a program like 7zip or Winrar to extract the game files, open them up until you see a file called 'Game', and then you just open it and play.

did some one have this game demo copy ı need dowload link pls

ı couldnt find in internet  could some one talk dev

Hello!

Dev here- sorry that I didn't see this earlier, I've been very inactive due to IRL business.

I'll try and get the newest build out for downloading ASAP! Sorry to keep everyone waiting!

Yo, I think It’s down again :(

Yo! Sorry, the new build is still not ready. But because of how long I've been taking to finish it, I'll just upload and put up a download for a W.I.P version so folks can still play it while they wait for the  full version.

Sorry once again for the wait!

This was so cool!!! I'm gonna upload my playthrough once I finish editing it, hehe. Just one thing I'd like to mention. The spell card that Joe plays with the goblin fella on it (from the time we first play with him) still appears on the playmat image in the following match with him. It confused the hell outta me LOL

So sorry I didn't see your comment before, but thank you very much for playing! Your feedback's also really appreciated.

Hope you enjoy the upcoming episode's release in the near future. I've been working on improving the game's dialogue writing and adding more visual flare to the game

Oh yeah, and quick question- assuming you didn't know the rules for Yugioh when you started playing, would you say the tutorial was too long?

(+1)

Not too long at all! It helped me get a good grasp on the game's controls!

Hi sorry I didn't knew another way to contact you besides this reply, I just wanna say this scripted duel idea is genius, I was wondering what did you used to add the cards in hand and filed feel like an actual yugioh game, does that work in rpgmaker? I would really love to hear from you, you have a new follower

Hiya!

You can contact me directly on my Twitt- oh, sorry... 'X' account's private messages (@KimigaDoro), you can comment on a video from the game's channel (@yourturntodrawkimigadoro), and you can reach me with a private message on my discord (mr_edgerp or EdgeKB#2998).

Thank you so much! Makes me really happy to hear you enjoyed the game! :D

To answer your questions:

The way the game works (in the version currently available for download, AKA 'Prologue Alpha 2.0') utilizes textbox choices and pre-written events to move the duels forward. Which is really just a fancier way of saying that you're basically making glorified visual novel-type choices, and the outcome of duels are pre-written.

As for the cards, all I did was make an image for the bar menu that showed all the card slots and then animated the cards (as images) moving into the slots for the bar menu.

In the upcoming release of the new prologue and first episode, you'll instead decide moves for your turns by selecting a 'plan' containing a list of actions for that turn, which is yet again just making a selection that makes the character do what's listed in the plan. However, there will also be a lot more interactive minigames to keep the gameplay fresh and engaging.

I'm excited to finally be able to release the first episode and the new prologue soon and show off the *laaarge* improvements I made on the game!
